Welcome aboard!

“There is nothing I enjoy more than being on the ocean and helping people experience the excitement and exhilaration of everything it has to offer”!

“I’ve been fishing for over 30 years and I have been lucky enough to fish some beautiful places in my time, but Whitianga has to be right up there with the best of them. The variety of spectacular fish we are able to target throughout our season is something that has to be seen to believed.

In 2016, I started a Facebook page and named it – “Whitiangler” – the purpose being to share not only mine and my families adventures, but to share everyone’s aquatic escapades.

Before I knew it, Whitiangler rapidly grew to become one of the leading Fishing Facebook pages in New Zealand and we now get to share these amazing experiences with others.

Targeting the famous New Zealand Kingfish (Yellowtail), Snapper, Hapuka, Marlin and more, you will get to come with me one of our purpose built Stabicraft 2250 Centrecab boats, powered by Yamaha outboards and see and experience New Zealand’s East Coast like never before.

My mission is to make your adventure one to remember forever, so come and enjoy the best of New Zealand hospitality, with us!”

Kia ora from Whitianga!

“I love the anticipation and excitement the ocean brings, you never know what to expect out there. I really enjoy being able to make amazing memories and bring home a magnificent bounty of seafood to prepare for my family and friends. To me that’s what it’s all about”.

Kia ora, I’m Rata, the ‘other half’ of Whitiangler. I work mainly behind the scenes in admin and marketing. In 2020 I decided to gain my Skippers license as I love being on the water as well.

I have been fishing from an early age and grew up in a secluded beach front area at the north of the Coromandel Peninsula.

I love nothing more than being out on the water, whether it be fishing or exploring the miles of amazing territory our coastline has to offer.

As much as I love fishing, I also love cooking and turning our catch into delicious kai.
